Fluent.AI Privacy Policy

Fluent.AI is a language-learning app built to keep your learning data private and useful. We do not sell your data. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Information stored on your device

Fluent.AI stores your language, goals, progress, review history, streak state, energy balance, and settings locally on your device using Apple storage frameworks. Some local state may sync through Apple's iCloud key-value store when iCloud is enabled.

Speech and microphone data

When you use speaking or pronunciation features, Fluent.AI uses the microphone and Apple's speech-recognition tools to transcribe your speech and give feedback. Fluent.AI does not sell microphone data or use it for advertising.

Cloud AI for Pro features

If you use a Pro feature powered by Claude, the text needed for that request is sent to Fluent.AI's Cloudflare Worker proxy and then to Anthropic so Claude can generate a reply. This may include the message you typed, short recent chat context, the target language, lesson context, and tutor instructions needed to answer well.

The app also sends an anonymous install identifier with cloud AI requests so we can enforce daily fair-use limits and protect the service from abuse. This identifier is not your name, email address, Apple ID, or advertising identifier.

Analytics and service reliability

Fluent.AI sends limited first-party product events to our Cloudflare Worker so we can understand whether the app is working. Examples include paywall viewed, purchase started, purchase succeeded, restore attempted, energy blocked, and AI request failures. These events do not include conversation text, speech audio, or lesson answers.

Purchases

Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. Fluent.AI can see StoreKit entitlement state, product identifiers, and whether Pro is active. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Your choices

You can avoid cloud AI by staying on the free on-device experience. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. You can delete the app to remove local app data from your device.
